2. Please take note of any times that tees are reserved for special competitions, visitors, matches, or visiting clubs and societies.

3. No one should stand too close to, or directly behind the ball, move or talk when a player is making a stroke. On the putting green no one should stand beyond the hole in the line of the player’s stroke.

5. Players should leave the green immediately after holing out.

6. Players looking for a ball should signal to the players following to pass through them immediately. After such a signal the players lost should not continue their play until the other players have passed and are out of range. A ball is lost after three minutes searching.

13. You must at all times play without delay. If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, it should allow the match following to pass.

14. BUGGIESWhen using a buggy you must stay on the paths where possible. Buggies must not be driven along Werneth Low Road, only directly across the road between the two access gates. When driving a buggy respect the demarcation lines indicated before each green. No more than two people are allowed in a buggy at any time. A ball in the trees back of the 2nd and 13th can be dropped in the drop zone. Penalty 1 shot.

20. Relief from tractor marks and animal scrapings is allowed.

21. Stones in bunkers may be removed.

22. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES (DMD’s) The use of ALL types of DMD's are permitted at Werneth Low Golf Club at all times and within competitive play.

To clarify the use of the term ALL this includes applications (Apps) on mobile phones, assuming that they do not measure other conditions that might affect play (e.g. slope, wind speed or direction). This is a change within the Rules of Golf 2016 to 2017 and is covered under Appendix IV para 5 which permits such Apps to be used assuming other Apps, such as slope, weather and wind measuring, are not used during play. To clarify this amendment allows that such Apps can be present on the phone, but does not permit their use at any time during play.

A player using a slope, weather or wind App during play or using a DMD to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. slope, weather, wind speed, etc.), is deemed to be in breach of rule 14.3 regardless of this local rule and as such the following will apply:-Stroke play – two shot penalty, subsequent offence disqualification.

Match play – loss of hole, subsequent offense disqualification

23. No penalty when a ball is accidentally moved on the putting green. As a result of the changes, which have been approved and adopted by all major tours worldwide, the R&A Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 now read:

When a player's ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment. The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1. This local rule applies only when the player's ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.

Note: If it is determined that a player's ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.
